Solution

As my notes say about the illustration, I wanted to showcase that Horizon is proud of being a B-Corporation, self-sustaining and environmentally friendly. I put in a brown landscape and grass to symbolize how Horizon grows their own crops, organically, to feed to their cows. The carton is blue, of course, to represent the sky with cloud graphics surrounding it. The red tiles are an original color and look for Horizon, so I added those to not sweep far away from the original packaging. The yellow you see throughout the carton is not only an original color for Horizon, but represents the sun as well. The cow I designed to be more children friendly, so more families are inclined to buy.

Blueprint

I changed a few things from the illustration prototype. I added in a sign instead of a cloud as I saw it more appropriately fitting. I also added smaller clouds around the carton so the background was not as empty. I added another side to the carton for if the company wants to add in a story of their corporation. Since the company is also proud of the ingredients they offer so, I made sure the ingredients were listed boldly and clearly. The typography was a difficult obstacle to overcome because of the mismatching with the fonts. I had to choose a bold one + a simple, elegant font to go together. I also had a hard time choosing the right colors for the text to be clearly seen all throughout the carton. Though, through experimentation, I managed and succeeded.

I used illustrator to create a 3D prototype of the carton I had in mind. I experimented with different colors, fonts, and placements of the designs I made. This whole project helped me learn the 3D animation tool and even though it was a long, draining process, I am grateful for it because now I know moving forward how to create such objects for when I want to present a design idea to a client or team. It also helped me gain more trust and patience with myself, since at first I did not know how to create this project and did everything myself from scratch with no guidance.
